Drive against
vehicles with
tinted glasses
KARACHI: Sindh Chief Secretary, Mohammed Zubair Kidwai on Saturday ordered a province-wide campaign against vehicles with tinted glasses.
In a directive to all the Divisional Commissioners he ordered to ensure that tinted glasses are removed by March 16.
Presiding over a law and order meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed crimes related to snatching and theft of cars, robberies, dacoities, kidnapping for ransom, arms and drug trafficking as well as cases of sabotage and terrorism.
The meeting was of the firm view that majority of crimes are committed through snatched/stolen vehicles.
It was decided to man all the entry and exit points in Karachi and other parts of Sindh with the personnel of Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC). These people will be equipped with full data about cars snatched or stolen.
It was decided to further beef up security measures at all entry and exit points and check posts with increased mobile patrolling by police.
The meeting emphasised the need for maintaining computerised record of criminals apprehended as well those released on bail. It was pointed out to maintain a close watch on criminals who come out on bail as well as their guarantors. It was hoped that this would bring down the crime rate.ÑAPP
