LAHORE: Britain's Department for International Development (DFID) funds the higher education links scheme throughout the world.

British Council Director Dr Robert Snell told APP here on Saturday that it encouraged academic links between higher education institutions in the UK and those of other countries.

He said the purpose of the scheme was to contribute towards sustainable development with a focus on improving the quality of life of the poor.

He said the British Council, Lahore was trying to establish link projects of the departments of Sociology and Psychology of the Punjab University, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), the Institute of Child Health, Lahore, the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Government College, Lahore and College of Home Economics, Lahore.ÑAPP
