Lahore: American jazz rhythm and blues band Defunkt `Jass' will perform at the Sui Soul World Music Festival here on Friday night.

The four-member band is led by composer/trombonist Joseph Bowie. The band consists of four musicians playing trombone/percussion/vocals, bass guitar, keyboards and drums. Defunkt is a power quartet, focussing on the basics of funky rhythm and conscious raising lyrics, featuring jazzy improvisations.
