BJP trying to implement its 'hidden agenda'
NEW DELHI: Indian former prime minister Deve Gowda, has said the Indian government's decision to review the constitution was an attempt to implement the BJP's "hidden agenda" of Hindu Rasthra and dismissed the assurances that the basic structure of the constitution and Parliamentary system of democracy would not be touched, reports "Deccan Herald".
According to details, Gowda, while speaking at a seminar, said that the review commission would recommend strapping of article 370, which provided special status to IHK and enforcing of the Common Civil Code. With these, the hidden agenda of BJP would materialise, he noted and appealed to the people not to allow this disaster.
Moreover, the Indian govt has decided to carry out a new strategy to curb militancy in Indian occupied Kashmir, reports "BBC TV".
According to the new strategy, Indian troops for the first time, would be permanently stationed alongwith the Line of Control (LoC), part in Kargil area, the report said.
STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP
India's President K R Narainan, has said that this country is desirous of promoting bilateral relations with Russia to the extent of strategical level friendship, reports "Radio Moscow".
According to the report, Narainan, in a statement, said that India wanted to maintain massive cultural contacts with Russia. Russian Cooperation in the fields of trade, commerce, economy, military, political, sciences and technology was one of the important elements of this strategic partnership, he said. Russia and India were in favour of having multi-political system in the world, he added. APP
