Bayinder sub-contractors meet NHA chief

ISLAMABAD: A delegation consisting of representatives of sub Contractors Association of Bayinder, on Tuesday met with the Ministry of Communication Secretary and National Highway Authority Chairman to help recover dues of Rs 540 million from the company.

According to sources, the delegation briefed them about the problems they were facing due to the non-payment of dues. Due to the non payment of dues, sub-contractors work has come to a complete halt on the Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway (M-2) and has led to the stoppage of payment of salary to the employees for the last several months.

NHA chairman told the delegation that NHA had already paid the due amount to Bayinder. The delegation appealed to the NHA and the CE to help the 32 sub-contractors, in recovering the outstanding amount of Rs 540 million.

The delegation consisted of representatives of Eastern Construction Company, Akbar Associates, Redco, Habib Rafiq and Zarak, sources said.
