Pakistan calls for talks with India on hijacking case
WASHINGTON: Pakistan's ambassador to the United States Dr Maleeha Lodhi has said her country was prepared for talks with India "to resolve tensions" and "condemns the terrorist actions of the hijackers."
In a statement on Saturday, she said "Pakistan government reiterates calls for India to engage in good-faith efforts to resolve the tensions between our two countries, especially on the issue of Kashmir."
She said, "the government of Pakistan has consistently condemned the terrorist actions of the hijackers and will continue to seek their arrest and prosecution. Our government also deplores any and all threats of violence against innocent citizens of any country."
She asked the Indian government "to apologise for suggesting that the government of Pakistan had anything to do with the hijacking".-PPI
