AJK President premier

AJK President Sardar Mohammad Ibrahim Khan and Prime Minister Barrister Sultan Chaudhry in their Eid message urged the people to display complete harmony, patience, and fraternity irrespective of sectarian and political differences and personal grudges following the teachings of Islam and the spirit of Ramazan on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Both the leaders paid glowing tributes to the Kashmiri people and freedom fighters for the unprecedented sacrifices being made for the supreme cause of freedom and right of self-determination.

AJK president said Kashmiri people have been struggling for the noble cause of Islam, Pakistan and independence.

He appealed to the world powers and bodies to adopt necessary measures to stop Indian brutalities in occupied Kashmir.

AJK Premier Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary paid glowing tributes to the freedom fighters and struggling Kashmiris for the inalienable right of self-determination promised to them by the world body.

Sultan said, "world at large has recognised the importance of the unresolved dispute of Kashmir" including US President Bill Clinton, which he termed a great breakthrough and success at international front.

Drawing the attention of the world community specially the Islamic Ummah Sultan urged them to take note of the desecration and sacrilege of Islamic places, Mosques and other spiritual places and said even in this sacred month of Ramazan the Kashmiris were stopped from performing their religious and spiritual rites and duties freely.

Barrister said "we believe that Ramazan is a gift from the Almighty Allah to the Muslim Ummah, which teaches us patience, tolerance and discipline in the life".

He appealed to the struggling Kashmiris for the noble cause of liberation movement to demonstrate complete solidarity fraternity and patience in order to counter the nefarious design and repressive measures of India.

Sultan vehemently said "the real pleasure of Eid-ul-Fitr will be then for the people of liberated territory, when the Kashmiri brethren across the LoC will throw away the Indian yoke from their neck".

He said Inshallah the next Eid will be celebrated together with Kashmiri brethren in occupied Kashmir.

PUNJAB GOVERNOR

The Punjab Governor Lt Gen Mohammad Safdar (Retd) in his message said that it is our bounden duty to spread the spirit of Ramazan far and wide and keep it alive for the rest of the year. "Our aim should be to make our society morally cleaner and socially happier", he added.

The governor extended heartfelt felicitations and warm greetings to all countrymen. The governor said that it is the day of rejoicing for all of us, specially those who, in obedience to divine command, observed fasting during Ramazan.

"Every year, we are taken through a comprehensive and strong regime which highlights the pristine qualities of self-restrain, self-denial, tolerance, discipline and the supreme importance of enduring and leading our lives as pleases Almight the most. Eid-ul-Fitr crowns the month-long regime. It is reward from Almighty Allah, while we rejoice in the successful conclusion of the regime, we must be mindful of the requirement to live during the following months by the lessons learnt up till we have the good fortune of yet another baptism through Ramazan to strengthen adherence to the tenets to which all Muslims must attain".

He said that Eid day is not only a day of rejoicing but also a way of introspection and stocktaking. The governor maintained that in the moments of happiness, we should remember those who were less privileged. "Let us bring some joy and cheer to the poor, the needy, sick and destitute, who are waiting our care, attention and affection". "Let us on this happy day, dedicate ourselves to rise above petty differences, promote peace and harmony among our people and work towards the unity of Muslim Ummah with more tolerance, accommodation, forgivencess and understanding towards one another", the governor concluded.ÑAPP
