KARACHI: A Military Police Havaldar on Thursday set an example of honesty by returning a lost amount of Rs 48,000 to its owner, says an ISPR press release.
According to the press release, Havaldar Abdul Hameed of Military Police found Rs 48,000 tied with rubber band while he was on patrol duty at Tariq Road on the night of January 6.
The NCO immediately reported the finding to his commanding officer.
The announcement was made through police mobile in the whole area that owner of the money could get it back from Military Police and the owner, Muhammad Younus, resident of Dhoraji Colony turned up at 3 am to claim the money.
Younus offered a portion of the amount as a token of thanks, but this was politely declined by the NCO. APP
