Govt to set up 'Bachat Bazars' in every part of city: Shahida

KARACHI: Sindh Law Minister Shahida Jameel said on Thursday the government will organise bachat (saving) bazars in every part of the city to provide consumer goods to people at fair prices.

She was inaugurating a Bachat Bazar in district West. Commissioner Karachi was also present on the occasion.

She said the present government was trying to serve people with the commitment to develop Pakistan and added, the country needed the cooperation of its people.

Shahida Jameel said these bachat bazars will help in controlling price hike and profiteering.

Earlier, DC West Capt Mohammad Rizwan Taqi said in his welcome address, these bazars have been organised on the instructions of the government to provide consumer goods to people at fair prices.

Later, the law minister visited stalls and also distributed 1000 packets of consumer items including atta, ghee, rice, cloths among needy.

Lakson Tobacco Company, Muslim Zakat Committee, Karachi Wholesale Grocers Group and Khidmat-e-Insaniat West has provided these packets. APP
