Crises control
centre being set up
in Interior
ISLAMABAD: A crises management and control centre is being set up in the Ministry of Interior to respond to any emergency situation in the country.
This was decided on Thursday during a high level meeting presided over by the Interior Minister Lt. Gen. (Retd) Moinuddin Haider.
The plan, structure and functional strategy of the proposed centre is being prepared by the National Data Base Organisation (NDO) which would replace already existing Federal Control Room. "We need dynamic and vigilant personnel in the organisation, which should be capable to meet the challenges arising out of any emergency," the minister remarked.
It was decided that the crises management and control centre, would be established in the premises of Interior Ministry to handle the situations arising out of natural calamities, acts of terrorism and sabotage, threats to internal security, peace and order.
The centre will also provide an information processing system and valid inputs to the decision makers by collecting and analysing the intelligence and information to formulate as a basic decision support mechanism.-APP
