Counsels allowed meeting with Nawaz
KARACHI: Rehmat Hussain Jaffri, officiating administrative judge of Anti-Terrorism Courts (ATCs) on Thursday allowed an application by Khalid Anwar, Ashtar Ausaf Ali and Iqbal Raad advocates, allowing a meeting with deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif main accused in October 12 plane hijacking case.
The applicants, counsel for Nawaz Sharif moved the court after exhausting all legal course to meet with their client for consultation over a number of cases pending against the accused before the Lahore High Court and Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The court deciding the application directed the Superintendent District Malir Jail to ensure meeting of the accused with his lawyers.
Meanwhile the same court disposed of a similar application moved by MNA Ejaz Shafi, his wife, Haleem Siddiqui and two other seeking meeting with the accused Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Eid day.
The court referred the applicant to the Superintendent of Malir Jail to take appropriate action as per prison rules. APP
