Chechnya day to be observed today

LAHORE: 'Friends of Chechnya' will observe Chechnya Day' on January 7, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramazan. A number of rallies will be held all over the country to condemn the Russian aggression.

The Forum convenor and Ameer Jamiat-ulema-Islam (JUI) Mulana Ajmal Qadri, in a statement on Thursday, said the continuing Russian bombardment on Chechnya was a clear violation of international laws.

He appealed to the world community to take notice of the Russian aggression against the innocent citizens of Chechnya.

He also announced to send a mission to Chechnya to provide relief to the besieged Chechens.
