KARACHI: About 43 more prisoners in minor cases have been released from Hyderabad division under the directive of Chief Executive Gen. Pervez Musharraf to enable them to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with their relatives, it was officially stated here on Thursday.

The federal government has asked the provincial governments to release the prionsers in minor cases and the number of the prisoners to be released from different prisons in the country runs into thousands, an official told APP.

Over 100 prisoners have already been released from District Prison Malir under the programme.

Those whose sentences are nominal may be released by finalising their cases expeditiously, he added.ÑAPP
