142 vehicles challaned in traffic checking campaign
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad district administration during its traffic checking campaign challaned 142 vehicles for different traffic violations in the capital and recovered Rs 37,200 as fine.
Under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Hamid Ali Khan, AC Sadar Jawad Pal, AC rural Jodat Ayaz, AC city Tariq Javed Malik and Secretary Transport Authority Islamabad, Malik Mohammad Afsar launched the checking campaign in the capital and during two-week period challaned 142 vehicles for committing various traffic violations and fined of Rs 37,200 was also recovered.
According to the ICT administration sources, during the checking campaign the tinted glasses of eleven vehicles were removed, 47 vehicle owners were fined on the spot for plying the vehicles without route permits, nine without number plates vehicles were impounded and 47 vehicles were fined for committing various traffic violations.
On the complaints of the general public especially the passengers, the owners of the vehicles plying on routes numbers 111 and 127 were called in for not completing their respective routes and strict warning was issued to them in this regard.
The ICT administration also warned the owners of the public transport to avoid overcharging from the passengers otherwise strict action will be taken against them. APP
