15,000-rupee prize bond draw held

PESHAWAR: The first draw of newly-introduced prize bonds of Rs. 15,000 denomination was held here on Monday at State Bank of Pakistan (Peshawar).

The draw was arranged by State Bank of Pakistan and Central Directorate of National Savings.

NWFP Minister for Finance Farid Rehman was present on the occasion.

The total number of draws, which were made on computer, were 781 and there details are as follows.

First Prize: Rs. 20 million (Bond number: 914027).

Second Prize (five of Rs. 10 million each) Bond numbers are 073811, 085395, 102847, 131337, 762531.

Third Prize (775 of Rs. 200,000 each).

The sale of Rs. 15,000 bonds started on October 1, 1999 and continued till 30th of the same month.

The bond fetched a sale of Rs. 12.2 billion during its limited period of sale.

For ensuring maximum transparency in draw process, the organisers sought the service of State Bank Computer Division, three other institutions of Federal Government including Federal Bureau of Statistics, Central Board of Revenue and experts of computer software. APP
