11 kiln workers freed

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday released 11 kiln workers who were wrongfully confirmed by a kiln owner in Nankana for the last two years.

The court passed the order in a habeas corpus petition filed by Muhammad Akram. It was submitted that a kiln (Bhatta) owner Ghulam Mustafa of Nankana detained 11 kiln workers illegally at his kiln. They were being subjected to severe torture and were in miserable condition.

The petitioner had earlier prayed the court to order their production in the court through bailiff. The bailiff on court's order raided the scene and recovered the detenues who were produced before the court on Monday.ÑAPP
