Gambling den raided: 16 held

FAISALABAD: A police party, headed by Illaqa Magistrate Ch. Liaqat Ali Chatha and Gulberg Circle DSP Ch. Imtiaz Ahmad, raided a gambling den in Mohallah Khalidabad here and arrested 16 gamblers including a policeman on charge of gambling and recovered Rs 0.2 million stake money.

The raiding party arrested one Gulzar Rehmani, while the other owner of the gambling den, Mohammad Yousaf, managed to flee taking along sizeable cash.

Those arrested included Nasir Ahmad, Ghulam Hussain, Mohammad Younis Rehmani of Khalidabad, Rizwan Butt, Nazir Ahmad, and Sohail of Duglas Pura, Mohammad Siddique, Mohammad, Nazir, Mohammad Anwar of Ghulam Mohammadabad, Mohammad Rafi and Khalid of Nisar Colony, Shehzad, Ejaz, Mohammad Ashraf Ansari of Batala Colony, Asif Ali Jat of Razaabad and a police wireless operator, Mohammad Waris.

A case under the Gambling Act has been instituted against the accused at Gulberg Police Station.
