CE to open Rs 3 bn PVC resin plant on Feb 9

LAHORE: Chief Executive Gen Pervaiz Musharraf will inaugurate the PVC resin manufacturing plant at Karachi on February 9.

The plant was set up at a cost of Rs 3 billion by Engro Asahi Polymer and Chemicals Limited, a joint venture company of Engro Chemicals (Pakistan) and Japanese companies Ñ Asahi Glass Company and Mitsubishi Corporation Ñ has a manufacturing capacity of 100,000 tonnes of resin annually.

According to Engro Asahi Chemicals officials, this is the largest equity investment by Japanese companies in any project in Pakistan.
