Add post offices

Meanwhile, a statement issued here by Karachi Post Master General's Office said the day post offices would collect KESC electricity bills from 0900 hours to 1500 hours and the Night Post Office from 1500 hours to 2000 hours.

Out of total 156, 30 post offices are working as day and night post office which would be providing this facility from 0900 hours to 2000 hours.

Post office started its service as bills collecting agency of Wapda for Lahore and Sheikhupura in July 1999 and expanded the services to entire Punjab, NWFP and Balochistan provinces besides the upper areas of Sindh.

Post Master General, Ahsan Basir Sheikh told APP that in Punjab the post offices had been collecting Wapda electricity bills worth more than Rs 1.7 million per month.

Sheikh said KESC had set a monthly recovery target of Rs 20 million for the city and "we hope we will achieve 50 percent of this target."

A Savings Bank Account titled "KESC Collection Account" would be opened at Karachi General Post Office (GPO) wherein daily collections would be credited. APP
