Country now more stable, says JJ
QUETTA: Adviser to Chief Executive on National Affairs and Information Javed Jabbar on Saturday said the threat posed to the Federation by deposed regime had been averted and now a fresh atmosphere of mutual confidence exists among all four provinces.
Addressing a press conference he said the country was now more stable.
As a second step the present government, he said, reformed the economy to a great extent, and success of these efforts reflected in restoration of confidence of the private sector. He said the economy received setback in the past due to incoherent policies of the successive governments.
Referring to the accountability of corrupt elements, he pointed out that detection and proving of white collar crime was a very difficult task and it may take years to finalise a case. In this connection he referred to Bofor scandal that took years for investigation.
He said after October 12 action, India had become more hostile towards Pakistan and had resorted to unfounded propaganda in a bid to label it as a terrorist state. Besides, it was also engineering bomb blasts in Pakistan to destabilise it.
With regard to oath under PCO he said, "While criticising any action of the government, one should keep in mind that we are living under very unusual circumstances."
Responding to another question, he said the Chief Executive was very keen for development of Balochistan and during his visit to China he had talked to Chinese authorities about revival of Saindak Copper project.
The cabinet would take up the issue in is next meeting. Besides, he said the Chief Executive had also ordered to formulate irrigation projects to boost agriculture in Balochistan. APP
