Govt has failed to
maintain law,
order: PML
RECORDER REPORT
KARACHI: The Pakistan Muslim League has expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation and acts of terrorism in which many people have died.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, Mustajab Hassan, secretary information of the PML, Sindh said the government has failed to provide security to people. "Even the mosques are not safe from such acts of terrorism."
He said the internal security together with the increase in the threat perception on the boarders has raised serious concern about Pakistan's security.
He said in this situation it is imperative that democratic institutions be restored as only an elected government can effectively deal with the issues confronting Pakistan today.
He said the continuously deteriorating law and order situation in the country has exposed the inability of the present rulers and failure of their claims made by various government functionaries.
A concerted effort is being made by India to 'have us declared a terrorist state'. "This will not only erode Pakistan's credibility as a member of the international community but also cause irreparable harm to the Kashmir issue and create a threat to country's integrity."
Hassan said, "The confused and misguided economic policies and the invisibility of the much-heralded economic reform agenda have only served to further erode investor confidence. A vicious and biased campaign against businessmen in the garb of accountability has resulted in closure of hundreds of factories and loss of thousands of jobs."
