Millennium's first triplets
COLOMBO: A Sri Lankan teenager has given birth to what are thought to be the millennium's first triplets.
Sixteen-year-old Iresha Dilrukshi, delivered the three girls through a caesarean section, at the main Castle Street hospital within the first hour of the New Year, press reports said.
They said Dilrukshi was rushed to the hospital after developing complications at a provincial hospital where she had been due to give birth. The triplets were earlier due in February, the reports said.
Castle street doctors said they were checking if the triplets were a first for the new millennium. AFP
