DONGA BONGA: Bhawalnagar army monitoring cell in a surprise raid arrested an income tax officer while he was receiving Rs 10,000 from a businessman and put him behind bars.

Reportedly an income tax officer demanded Rs 20,000 from a businessman as illegal gratification to sort out his problem.

He agreed to pay Rs 10,000 and reported the matter to the concerned authorities.

The incharge army monitoring cell set up a raiding team which conducted a raid and arrested the income tax officer Manzoor Ahmad while he was receiving the agreed amount from the complainant and registered a case against the arrested officer.

This officer is reported to have caused a lot of problems to the local businessmen.-PPI
