EU film festival from 31st

ISLAMABAD: As a part of European Union cultural programme for 2000, embassies of member states of EU and delegation of European Commission would jointly organise a film festival in Islamabad from January 31 to February 10.

The aim of the film festival is to provide an opportunity to introduce Pakistani audience to some of the latest European films. The participation to the film festival would be free.

The films to be shown in the festival include, Oscar winner Roberto Benigni's Life is Beautiful and recent hits like Notting Hill, Shakespeare in Love, Tea with Mussolini, Run Lola Run and Le Colonel Chabert.

In all, 21 films, with English sub-titles from the 10 member states would be screened during the festival.

The film festival would be inaugurated by the ambassador of Portugal and representative of the presidency of the EU council of ministers, Dr Alexander Vassalo.
