KARACHI: The Sindh Small Industries Corporation (SSIC) has decided to hand over allotment of plots in Sindh Small Industrial Estates (SSIE) to private sector.
SSIC has approved formation of District Coordination Committees in each and every district where SSIE exists, headed by the president of chamber of commerce and industry of the area.
These DCCs will process applications received for allotments of plots in their respective SSIC industrial estates and recommend the applications for allotment of plots.
The committees would comprise. President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the area, two allottees of the concerned SSIE, Regional Director and Distt Officer of SSIC.
The formation of these committees was decided at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Dr. Khawar Jameel, Managing, Director SSIC. The meeting also reviewed the plot allotment system at the head office level and agreed to increase the members of head office committee from existing three to four. This committee would now comprise Director administration, director finance, joint director establishment and investment and newly added member i.e. director, civil works.
The committee would simplify the allotment procedure of plots and consider strict legal action against the defaulters, as well as enabling the allottees to establish and run the industrial units on various SSIE.
