IBP to hold seminars on Riba

KARACHI: The Institute of Bankers Pakistan (IBP) will hold a series of seminars on 'Riba'.

"Pursuant to the judgement of the Appellate Shariat Bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the IBP has planned a series of seminars and panel discussions on the subject at Karachi and other parts of the country," says an IBP statement here on Thursday.

It said that the programme is aimed at discussing the impact of the judgement on banking and financial institutions.

A panel discussion on the subject was held at Karachi recently. A seminar on the subject is being held at Lahore on January 31.

This will be followed by two more seminars Ñ one each at Rawalpindi (February 2) and Peshawar (February 23).

Experts in the field have been invited to conduct the seminars, the IBP statement added. APP
