Flying was safer in the 1990s
LONDON: The risk to airline passengers has fallen over the past decade, Flight International magazine said on Monday.
Air accidents rose in the 1990s by 28 percent and the number of deaths climbed from 10,600 in the previous decade to 11,950.
But the magazine pointed out that passengers numbers had increased by 32 percent, flights by 30 percent and the average distance flown by passengers by 12.5 percent so the average risk to passengers had fallen.-Reuters
