Chinese team meets defence secy

RAWALPINDI: A high-level delegation of Chinese Institute for International Strategic Studies led by Zhang Zai on Monday called on Secretary Defence Lt. General Nasim Rana (Retd) in the Ministry of Defence here.

The two sides exchanged analytical views on regional and international geo-political situation and were of the view that China and Pakistan share perceptions on all international and regional issue, and their time-tested cooperation and friendship is for the peace and stability in the region and world.

Earlier, while welcoming the delegation, the secretary defence said that frequent exchange of visits at various levels specially at strategic policy-making institutions would be highly beneficial to the people of the two countries. The two countries are committed to continue and consolidate friendship and cooperation in the new millennium.

He also expressed his satisfaction on the on-going defence cooperation between the two countries and was hopeful it would act as an anchor for furtherance of cooperation in other fields for mutual benefit. APP
