90 pc concession
for computer
training units
KARACHI: Microsoft Pakistan will provide 90 percent concession to computer training institutes on its software in the country to check software piracy.
This decision was taken at a recently held meeting of Pakistan Computer Institutes Association (PCIA). PCIA Chairman Aziz-ur-Rehman presided over the meeting.
Distributor Microsoft Zulfiqar Ali, representative of Pakistan Software Bar Association Asad Hasan, Business Software Alliance (BSA), College of Professional Education and other computer training and software organisations attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the line of action of discourage software piracy and discuss Anti-Piracy Law in the country.
The Microsoft and BSA told the meeting that they were not planning to conduct raids on computer training institutes to control software piracy.
Aziz-ur-Rehman in his address said that the association will protect the interest of its members and thanked various software vendors including Oracle for providing special packages for training institutes.ÑAPP
