Microsoft to give 90 pc concession to computer institutes
KARACHI: Microsoft Pakistan will provide 90 percent concession to computer training institutes on its software in the country to check software piracy.
This decision was taken at a recently held meeting of Pakistan Computer Institutes Association (Pcia). PCIA chairman Azizur Rehman presided over the meeting.
Distributor Microsoft Zulfiqar Ali, representative of Pakistan Software Bar Association Asad Hasan, Business Software Alliance (BSA), College of Professional Education and other computer training and software organisations attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the line of action to discourage software piracy and discuss Anti-Piracy Law in the country.
The Microsoft and (BSA) told the meeting that they were not planning to conduct raids on computer training institutes to control software piracy.
Azizur Reham in his address said that the association will protect the interest of its members and thanked various software vendors including Oracle for providing special packages for training institutes.
The meeting was told that Microsoft and BSA did not make any complaint to the authorities against software piracy. APP
