Man sets himself on fire

ISLAMABAD: A middle-aged man set himself on fire in I-9/4 on Sunday.

Khurshid, working as an ASI in IB, poured petrol upon himself and gave it a light to commit suicide.

His family said that Khurshid, aged about 35, had been sick for the past two years, which may have prompted him to take his own life.

The Islamabad Police got hold of five runaway school-kids from Gujranwala and handed them over to their parents in G-7/3.

Their parents promptly informed the police when they failed to come back from the school. The Islamabad Police alerted the Police throughout Pakistan.

Eventually the kids were caught by Gujranwala Police while on their way to Lahore on train. They are named as Adeel Saleem, Muhammad Saleem, Tahir Mehmood, Amin Faisal and Ali Imran.

The Islamabad Police will be given training on the pattern of Motorway Police. This was decided in a meeting between SSP Islamabad, Nasir Khan Durrani, and IG Motorways, Iftikhar Rashid.

The training, to be supervised by Abbas Malik of Motorway Police, is expected to begin next week.ÑAPP
