Girls school without headmistress for many years
LAHORE: The lofty claims of the Punjab Education Department for extending education facilities to rural areas appear to be merely a "lip service and a boast".
The menace of "red-tapism" that speaks of apathy and cool response of concerned quarters and above all gross violation of "good governance", the concept being violated by certain bureaucrats at the cost of the budding generations.
The students of Government girls High School Mauza Lashari, which is about 37 km off Okara, are the worst affected of the cool response and negligence of Education Department who are compelled to attend school without headmistress for the past few years.
More surprisingly, three approved posts of Secondary School Teachers (SSTs) are lying vacant till date, causing academic lost of the students.
There are about 60 students in the school of both science and arts classes and according to their parents, majority of them fail in Matriculation examination every year due to non-availability of qualified teachers for which parents have made frequent appeals to the Education Department in past but to no avail.
Parents have appealed the Punjab governor to come to rescue the academic future of their daughters which is at stake due to negligence of Education Department.ÑAPP
