Acer Computers chief due on 24th
RECORDER REPORT
LAHORE: Ralph Tang, Managing Director, Acer Computers, the world's third largest computer manufacturing company, along with General Manager, Adrian Chang will visit Pakistan from January 24 to January 26.
According to a press release issued by the Acer Computers here on Saturday, its top officials will reach Karachi on January 24, where they will hold meetings with computers retailers and important personalities related to the Information Technology (IT) business.
Ralph Tang will also visit Islamabad on January 25, 2000 where he is likely to discuss various computerisation projects in various public and private sector departments.
Commenting on this visit, Acer Computers Country Sales Manager Ijaz Anwar, said that Pakistan is a growing market for IT business and Acer Computers (Middle East) is getting good business results in Pakistan's market.
He said the Acer Computers (ME) has the highest growth rate in the entire region and also registered good growth in the Pakistani market.
'Keeping in view the good potential of Pakistan's IT market, Acer Computers has decided to establish its sub-office in Pakistan which is likely to start working in Karachi shortly. The Acer has made a special plan to introduce latest computer technology to the computer users of Pakistan.'
He said the Acer is the only Computer Company, which has an assembling plant at Dubai due to which speedy delivery of specially manufactured computers according to the specific requirement can be ensured.
Ijaz Anwar has offered the Punjab Government a series of workshops and seminars in various areas of the province to expand computer awareness among the masses.
The Acer has so far successfully completed the computerisation of various projects at the State Bank of Pakistan, Habib Bank of Pakistan, National Bank of Pakistan, Karachi Stock Exchange. Fatima Jinnah University, Lahore University of Management Sciences, Minhaj-ul-Quran University and Baharia College. It provides 24-hour service facility to its computers.
