66-inch water pipeline bursts

KARACHI: A 66-inch dia meter KWSB water main line faced another pipe burst at University Road on Saturday with water gushing out and inundating a large area.

The pipeline is part of the newly laid 100 million gallons per day (MGD) water supply project.

According to KWSB the pipe burst took place near Sui Southern Gas Company's (SSGC) installations at University Road.

Water Board engineers reached the scene of burst and started repair work by shutting down the supply.

The water closure will affect Federal B Area, North Nazimabad, Banaras Colony and some other parts of Karachi of districts Central and West.

KWSB said the repair work will take a couple of days after which normal water supply will be resumed. APP
