Court adjourns proceedings in Ehtesab case against Wattoo
RECORDER REPORT
LAHORE: An accountability court adjourned the proceedings in an Ehtesab case against the former Punjab chief minister, Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, and directed his co-accused to submit their version in writing by January 22.
Manzoor Wattoo has been facing the charge of misuse of Bait-ul-Maal funds in his capacity as Punjab chief minister and distributing the same to his favourites.
Wattoo had given Rs 5 million each to a private school and a Model Town Welfare Society. He had also granted Rs 0.7 million to one Ghulam Murtaza from flood relief funds.
All the co-accused appeared before the court through their counsel Ch. Mushtaq Ahmed contended that they were ready to pay back the money.
The court adjourned the proceedings for a day directing them to submit their version in writing.
