JHANG: Twelve persons were killed while 18 others injured in a head-on collision between a flying coach and a passenger bus at Adda Doli Shaheed on Jhang-Shorkot road, some 14 km off here on Friday.

A flying coach (PR-2772) was going to Multan from Jhang collided with a passenger bus (PRD-5333) coming from opposite direction. As a result, 12 persons died at the spot, while eighteen others received multiple injuries and were shifted to DHQ Hospital. The condition of 10 injured was stated to be critical.

The dead were identified as Gul Sher of Chak Mochiwala, his wife Humera Bibi and his two daughters Heleema and Kaniz Fatima, Iqbal s/o Charag of Kabirwala, Naziran Bibi of Shorkot, Ibrar Ahmed of Duniapur, Suba of Chak No 262 Mochiwala and two unidentified.

The injured persons were identified as Rasheed, Ihsanullah, Afzal Shah, Sabia Bibi, Haji Allah Ditta, Munir, Muhammad Khan, Shahid Farooq, Anyat, Yasin, while others injured yet to be identified.

The driver of the flying coach also died, while the bus driver managed to escape.ÑAPP
