French envoy calls on JJ

ISLAMABAD: The French Ambassador to Pakistan, Yannick Gerard, called on the Adviser to the Chief Executive on national affairs and media development, Javed Jabbar, in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Issues relating to bilateral relations came under discussion during the meeting. Javed Jabbar explained the policies of the government with special reference to the reformation process which may lead towards the establishment of strong institutions required for an authentic democratic system.

Jabbar also dilated upon the efforts in hand to modernise the media sector to meet the challenges of the new century.

The French ambassador noted that trade relations between two countries have shown steady and notable improvement. The mutual exchange of trade delegations would further strengthen the economic ties between the two countries, Gerard said.

France would provide all facilities to Pakistan trade delegations visiting his country.
