KASB plans 10 most modern IT institutes
KARACHI: Arif Ali Shah Bukhari, a well-known investment banker and an Executive Director of Khadim Ali Shah Bukhari Company, has come up with an ambitious plan of setting up 10 most modern IT institutes throughout the country.
The first of the 10 institutes has been established in Karachi which is to start functioning from February 21.
Talking to APP on Tuesday, Arif, who also runs the Khadim Ali Shah Bukhari Foundation which is deeply involved in social welfare activities with special emphasis on promotion of education in the country, said the idea behind the establishment of these institutes is to contribute to the overall efforts being made at the national level for augmenting the cause of information technology in Pakistan.
These institutes, he pointed out, would impart education in the field of computer sciences and information technology at graduate and post-graduate levels.
The important features of these courses would be concentration towards new millennium technologoies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, software engineering and technologies, and intelligent machines, he added.
He said the degrees awarded at these institutes would cost the students a price 10 times less than what is charged in advanced foreign countries. APP
