GST collectorate Y2K compliant

LAHORE: The General Sales Tax Collectorate has become Y2K problem ready with the help of computer professionals from the Central Board of Revenue (CBR).

A spokesman of the collectorate said that its Y2K task force had conducted mock exercises in the first three weeks of December last year to ensure quick restoration of normal data processing during the new millennium.

He said that the collectorate had modified or updated 2.5 million lines in the source code, about 100 data-bases, 50 reports and 25 forms to counter any possible problems.
