RAWALPINDI: As Eidul Fitr is approaching fast the despatch of Eid cards to the dear and near ones is touching its peak in the city.

Eid card is the most impressive mode of conveying Eid greetings to the loved ones on the auspicious occasion at the conclusion of Ramazan.

People send greeting cards to their friends and relatives to share feelings of happiness and joy on Eid celebrations.

Eid cards inscribed with variety of phrases and messages covering multifarious subjects based on the sentiments of love and affection are available in the market in abundance for buyers.

Although buying of cards is a laborious and time consuming exercise but it is inevitable for a good selection.

The sale of Eid cards even begins at the advent of Ramazan and all the periodical shops set up special shelf and counters to display the cards prominently for sale. Some of the book dealers have also put up special stands in front of their shops.

Besides a number of stalls are also visible along the roads of busy markets from where cards with comparatively cheaper rates can be purchased.

A large number of cards with different dimensions from small to normal and even large size are available in the market but this year a new variety of significantly large size Eid cards measuring 20" x 12" have been introduced.

The folding of the cards has four times increased this year and this has also resulted in an increase of the prices of such cards as well.

Eid cards printed on plain, butterfly and offset papers offer taste and choice for different age groups.

The prices of the cards this year range between Rs 5 and Rs 150 but the normal rate is Rs 20 to Rs 30.

One of the major card dealers said that the purchase of cards depends upon the mood of the buyer and each and every person has his own liking and choice in case of Eid cards.

He said that normal business is going on this year and people are showing good response to buy Eid cards. He said that over hundreds of thousands of cards are being sold every year.ÑAPP
