Anarkali facelift to restart in February
LAHORE: The tough tiles project for the facelift of Anarkali Bazaar will be restarted next month and would be completed within three months at a cost of Rs. 7.5 million.
The contract of the project has already been awarded to National Logistic Cell (NLC) by Metropolitan Corporation Lahore, MCL sources said on Tuesday.
They said that work would also started on a number of other road development projects in the city and most of them would be completed within the next few months.
A contract was awarded to Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) by MCL for the construction of two-km road from Dubai Chowk to Canal Bridge and FWO has started work on it which will be completed within one month.
Work has also been started on 2.5-km road construction project from General Bus Stand to Ravi Bridge. It is expected to complete within three months, sources added.
Various other road projects on which work is in progress are Sham Nagar, Slaughter House and Kot Kumbho road projects.
Bund Road has been handed over to National Highway Authority (NHA), which has given contract for its construction to FWO, and it is expected that work would start within the next few weeks.
MCL is surveying various other roads and work would soon be started on roads where people face difficulties in the rainy season, they said. APP
