Indian troops fear attacks on sensitive
installations on republic day
ISLAMABAD: In occupied Kashmir, the Indian military authorities fear Mujahideen's attacks on sensitive installations on Indian Republic Day, on January 26, including T.V. and Radio stations.
Reporting this, the Kashmir Media Service says, heavy military guards have been posted at various military and other installations. A six-tier defence line is already in place around Bukhshi Stadium, Srinagar venue of the Republic Day official function; military guards have also been beefed up on all Indian central government offices. Entry of people in these offices has been banned. The troops have occupied all tall buildings around the stadium and set up military posts atop them. These include hospitals.
Meanwhile, crackdowns have been intensified in Srinagar. People including respectable and prominent persons are daily being subjected to humiliating and agonising identity parades.
Meanwhile a National Conference leader Qadir Butt and three others were killed as armed persons entered his house and opened fire, BBC reports.
According to report armed persons raided the house of the National Conference leader Qadir Butt on Saturday night in Phulwama district. In exchange of fire Qadir Butt, one of his sons, a relative and a guard were killed. Another son of Butt was wounded.
So far no organisations claimed the responsibility of this incident the report says.ÑAPP
