'India continues

anti-Pakistan,

anti-Islam campaign

under a strategy'

ISLAMABAD: India is continuing anti-Pakistan and anti-Islam propaganda under a strategy and it uses all the options in this regard without caring that how irrational they are.

India has developed an assumption that by continuing its anti-Pakistan and anti-Islam campaign it will succeed to convince international community particularly the west and most particularly to United States that Pakistan is a country which backs terrorism and so-called Islamic fundamentalism.

These view were expressed by Dr. Tanvir Ahmad a former Secretary and Dr. Ijaz Hussain, Chairman Deparment of International Relation Quaid-i-Azam in a PTV's programme on Monday.

Dr. Tanvir Ahmed said, fact is that Indian intelligence agency (RAW) is involved in all kinds of terrorist activities not only in Pakistan but in the entire region. Involvement of this agency in various kinks of terrorist acts has been frequently proved by Pakistan on the basis of evidence. Besides India as a state has trained thousands of Tamil guerrillas who are functioning in Sri Lanka and have deteriorated the entire peace in that country. Nepal is also victim of Indian attitude.

He said in order to established its hegemony in the region India is busy to suppress its neighbouring countries to have political and strategic control over them.

Tanvir said, curbing terrorism is included in the top priorities of Clinton administration and India being a terrorist state itself, is busy to divert the attention of US administration by labelling false allegations against Pakistan.

He said, Pakistan played a very positive role during the Indian plane hijacking incident but Indians in turn have resorted to involve Pakistan in this issue. India is presenting the drama of hijacking incident as a Bombay Based film, he added.

According to evidence so far came to light, no body has seen the faces of hijackers because they were wearing masks. When the question aroused about the identity of hijackers Indian Home Minister L.K. Advani announced in a press conference that he is going to deliver the photographs of hijacker to press. On the other day it was said by a responsibe Indian police official in Bombay that the persons which Home Ministers mentioned were already convicted in a criminal case, Tanvir said.

He said this attitude reflects the confusion which the Indian government is facing on being unable to satisfy its public and analysts about its assertions regarding hijacking drama.

Tanvir said Indian whole stress is to prolong its anti-Pakistan and anti-Islam propaganda and added this is a dangerous design which poses threat to regional security.

Recalling the comments of Indian Army Chief in which he has said that danger of Indo-Pak war which may involve more losses of life and also the use of nuclear weapons do exist, Tanvir said being a responsible person his statement should be seriously viewed.

Dr Ijaz Hussain also speaking in the programme said, the document of memorandum which the Indian government has handed over to Pakistan's High Commissioner in New Delhi bears two assertions i.e the hijackers were Pakistani and they wanted to go Pakistan.

On the basis of ground reality these Indian assertions have no proof and have already been rejected by the world community.

He said the three prisoner released on the demand of hijackers were in Indian jails for many years without any trial. One of them was British national, other a Kashmiri and only one belonged to Pakistan. So it is a wrong Indian assertion that all of them were Pakistanis.

Commenting of the legal prospect of the document of memorandum handed over to the Pakistan's High Commissioner in New Delhi he said, there are three international conventions in this regard. Article 4 of the Hague convention and article 6 of the Montrial convention is relative to the matter. According to these articles if a country takes the control of hijackers it is bound to trial them or hand them over to the relevant country.

He said India has demanded only the extradition of hijackers which violates the international law in this regard.

Since the hijackers have not been identified by the Indian authorities and there is no proof that they have entered into Pakistan he said adding that this Indian demand is baseless and irrational.ÑAPP
