England's millennium babies
LONDON: Thousands of England's millennium babies are 100 years old already.
The millennium bug has struck English registry office computers, which refuse to recognise the year 2000 and are automatically printing 1900 on birth certificates.
"We have found a problem with the software which is affecting the date," said a spokesman for the Office for National Statistics. Staff are giving parents hand-written birth certificates until the computers are debugged.-Reuters
