Plea to destroy confiscated smuggled goods

KARACHI: Abdullah Rafi, Chairman, Site Association of Industries (SAI), has urged the government to burn and destroy confiscated smuggled consumer goods.

He said that smuggled goods confiscated should not be sold out through auction or utility stores or CSD stores. Moreover, confiscated vehicles should go to the government pool and used for official duties.

He said that the notorious Afghan Transit Trade Agreement had always been detrimental to the industrialisation process of the country and it was high time this ATT was discontinued.

He praised the government's decision to restrict those bonded warehouses which although for the use of diplomats, were criminally misused.
