KARACHI: PIA Chairman and Federal Defence Secretary Lt Gen Nasim Rana (Retd) has congratulated PIA MD Arif Ali Khan Abbasi, Communications and Information Systems Division (ISD), Chief of Y2K Committee of the national carrier and his team for successfully surmounting the much-feared Y2K problem" and accomplishing the roll-over into the next millennium on schedule without any hiccups.

"The most gratifying aspect of this achievement was that the task accomplished by this team at a very negligible cost, he said in his message read out at a get together in Karachi recently hosted by Arif Abbasi to celebrate PIA's successful surmounting the much-feared Y2K problem.

He hoped the zeal and spirit which the PIA Y2K team showed would emulated by all other employees to pull the national airline out of its present "precarious condition", and to put it on the road to prosperity and success.ÑPR
