Frist draw of Rs 750 prize bond held

ISLAMABAD: The first draw of Rs 750 prize bonds was held here on Saturday presided over by Javed Jabbar, Adviser to the Chief Executive for Information and Media Development.

Central Directorate of National Savings, Ministry of Finance and the State Bank of Pakisatan jointly organised the computerised draw in which, six series from A to F of Rs.750 prize bonds were included. Seven hundred and eighty one prizes from each series were decided, with first prize of Rs 1 million, second prize of Rs.5,00,000 (five prizes), and 775 prizes of Rs.10,000 each.

The first prize of Rs. 1 million was won by bond No.367030 in series A and bond No.113430, 922176, 942742, 265656 and 345180 in the B, C, D, E and F series respectively.

To ensure the transparency, experts from State Bank's Computer Division, supervised the draw while the software experts from Computer Bureau, Federal Bureau of Statistics and the CBR were also present.

The government started the sale of new prize bonds of Rs.750 denomination on October, 15 1999. The first month sale of these prize bond exceeded Rs. 4.87 billion.

The new denomination prize bond's scheme of the government received a total investment of Rs.60 billion within the period of three months.
