KARACHI: Pakistan's Ambassador in Azerbaijan has advised potential Pakistani exporters to participate in tenders floated by the Azeri government for the supply of uniforms, bed clothing and food for the Ministry of Defence.

According to a fax message received by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defence is interested in buying uniforms and bed linen for troops. The items required include: pea jackets, summer field suits with camouflage caps, and winter field suits with camouflage caps, socks, underclothes, and winter linen. Boots for soldiers, semi-woolen blankets, sheets, and sacks for sleeping.

Bids may be submitted for one or all the lots. The participation fee for all the lots is 87 million Manats. (1 US $ = 4375 Manats approx).

The food items which the Ministry of Defence, Azerbaijan, intends to buy include: meet and butchery products, beef and mutton, fish and fish products, oil and fats, milk and dairy products, grain products, eggs, agricultural products and vegetables, potatoes, onions, cabbage, carrots, and bread products. The bids will be received until February 7, 2000.
