KCA concerned over Indian ban on Pak cotton imports
RECORDER REPORT
KARACHI: "An emergency meeting of the exporter-members of the Karachi Cotton Association noticed with great concerns that through a Notification issued by the Government of India, import of Pakistani cotton into India has been banned," said a press release issued by the KCA on Friday.
"It was reiterated in the meeting that Pakistan cotton has been exported to various countries including India for the last 50 years after proper fumigation and no complaint of any bacterial, viral and fungal disease has ever been received from any importing country of the world including India," added the press release.
The meeting noted with concerns that through this measure, a serious situation has been created whereby international contracts have been frustrated which is against the interest of the free trade and sanctity of international contracts," the press release concluded.
