Lyari to review

public complaints

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi, Shafiqur Rehman Paracha, accompanied by Chief Engineer Sewerage, visited Lyari and other adjoining areas to review the public complaints in the aftermath of Tuesday's rains.

The Commissioner talked to people with regard to their complaints regarding contamination of water at Old Kumhar Road and Sarya Road and inquired about the details.

Paracha constituted a committee consisting of area people and KWSB officials and headed by area SDM to take steps for a permanent solution of the problem.

He also visited Baba Bhat Island and Mahmood Shah Road where sewage had accumulated due to blockade of sewerage line. He assured of expeditious disposal of sewerage water and clearance of sewerage line.

Paracha expressed satisfaction over removal of trucks and cranes in front of Custom House and Aga Khan Road. He asked the SDM to take steps for maintaining the efforts made in this regard.

He noted with satisfaction that repair of the road damaged due to creation of trenches in front of S M Law College has been started. He also issued instructions for taking steps to overcome sewerage problems in North Nazimabad's Block H.

Paracha said he would hold an open kutchery in Lyari in the first week of February and listen to problems of people and review the decisions taken for solution of civic problems.ÑAPP
